Ask Brigid vs Tandem Health

Tandem Health alternative for Irish consultants

Tandem Health is a European AI medical scribe: it turns the consultation into notes, documents and codes for review, and its scribe is CE marked as a medical device. Ask Brigid is euro-priced practice management for Irish private consultants, with dictation built in, hosted in AWS Dublin.

A scribe and a practice system do different jobs

Tandem is a serious scribe. Its AI Scribe, Coding Assistant and Clinical Decision Support are CE marked under EU MDR as Class IIa medical devices, its security page says patient data stays in European data centres with no audio kept, and its pricing page showed a reader in Ireland a free plan and Pro at €69 per user a month billed yearly (all checked 16 Oct 2026). What a scribe is not is the system a private practice runs on: the diary, the patient record, invoices and the inbox live somewhere else, and Tandem sends its notes there.

If the note is the job

Tandem generates notes and documents from the consultation. Where note assistance is enabled for the clinic, Ask Brigid prepares the note or letter from the consultation transcript too, inside the patient record, and the clinician checks, edits and signs it before use. It does not diagnose, interpret results, recommend treatment or make a clinical decision.

If the practice is the job

Ask Brigid keeps the diary across rooms and hospital sessions, the record, invoices with card payments by link and one inbox together, hosted in AWS Dublin (eu-west-1), at €129 or €299 a month + VAT per practice, with every seat included.

When Tandem is the better fit

If what you want is a scribe certified as a medical device, with coding help and answers to clinical questions during the visit, Tandem is built for exactly that, and Ask Brigid deliberately is not: its intended purpose is administrative. If you want to dictate into any program on your computer, Tandem's Dictate Anywhere does that, where Ask Brigid's push-to-talk works inside Ask Brigid. And if your practice system already does what you need, a scribe on top may be all you are missing.

Ask Brigid is built for Irish private consultants. For dictation in Irish rooms, see EU dictation built into Ask Brigid; for where software ends and a medical device begins, see is practice software a medical device?
