Lanas Healthcare Technologies launched in November 2025 after acquiring Clanwilliam Group, a deal The Irish Times put at around $450m, with over $115m in committed M&A funding for further acquisitions. Its own site lists 14 products — Socrates, HealthOne, iMedDoc, DGL Practice Manager, DictateIT and more — for GPs, consultants, hospitals and care homes, each sold as a product in its own right. Ask Brigid takes the opposite starting point: the diary, the record, invoicing and dictation are one product, for one consultant, from day one.
Which sub-brand would you actually be buying?
A private consultant comparing Ask Brigid against “Clanwilliam” is usually really comparing against iMedDoc, DGL Practice Manager or Socrates Consultant, all built for consultant clinics. Socrates GP, HealthOne and Helix are GP systems; DictateIT is speech recognition, sold as its own product. The ownership table below maps every product to what it actually is.
Dictation in the record, on every plan
In Ask Brigid, recording and transcript come on both plans, in the record itself, and on Professional, dictation works in every field of the practice system, not only in a note. Within the group, iMedDoc offers dictation, Socrates AI Scribe drafts consultation notes and DictateIT's ambient listening generates notes and letters. In Ask Brigid, nothing is filed or sent until the clinician has reviewed and signed it.

Who should stay with Clanwilliam / Lanas
A consultant already settled in iMedDoc, DGL Practice Manager or Socrates Consultant, and not looking to change, has a real switching cost to weigh, not just a preference. So does a practice that relies on Socrates AI Scribe or DictateIT's ambient listening today, or one waiting on iMedDoc's MedoSync claims integration, which iMedDoc says will be available from autumn 2026. The same goes for anyone relying on hospital-wide infrastructure like ClaimSure that no single-consultant product, Ask Brigid included, is built to replace. What products does the group actually own?
lanas.com lists 14, among them Socrates (GP and consultant editions), HealthOne and Helix Practice Manager (GP systems), iMedDoc and DGL Practice Manager (private-practice systems), DictateIT (speech recognition) and ClaimSure (hospital claims processing). Pippo, a GP patient app, comes from Socrates.
If I’m a consultant, which of those products would I actually run?
iMedDoc, DGL Practice Manager and Socrates Consultant are built for consultant clinics; Socrates says Socrates Consultant supports consultants in over 30 hospitals. Socrates GP, HealthOne and Helix are GP systems, and DictateIT is speech recognition rather than a practice system.
