Ask Brigid vs HealthOne for Irish private consultants
HealthOne is a long-standing system for Irish general practice. Clanwilliam's product page describes it as practice management software for GPs, practice managers and secretaries, and its independent user group, HIUG, says the majority of Irish GPs use it, and said in June 2025 that HealthOne will continue to be fully supported by Clanwilliam Health (checked 23 Sep 2026). That incumbency is real, and it is a GP incumbency: a private consultant's list, hospital sessions and correspondence are a different shape of work than a GP practice's, and Ask Brigid is built for the consultant's version of that work first.

Is HealthOne built for private consultants, or for GPs?
Clanwilliam describes HealthOne as practice management software for GPs, practice managers and secretaries, and HIUG, its independent user group, says the majority of Irish GPs use it (clanwilliamhealth.com and hiug.ie, checked 23 Sep 2026). Ask Brigid is built specifically for private consultants and specialists. HealthOne’s owner, Lanas, also sells consultant systems: iMedDoc, and Socrates Consultant, which says it supports consultants in over 30 hospitals nationwide (lanas.com and socrates.ie, checked 23 Sep 2026).
Is HealthOne being discontinued?
Nothing we found says so. In May 2024 HIUG said some users had received an email from Clanwilliam about changing their practice management software to Socrates; HIUG did not endorse that message and advised users against converting. In June 2025 HIUG said HealthOne will continue to be fully supported by Clanwilliam Health, and named second-generation CompleteGP as the successor it had chosen (‘HealthTwo’), expected early in 2026. hiug.ie had posted no launch update when we checked (hiug.ie, checked 23 Sep 2026).
What does Ask Brigid cost?
Ask Brigid publishes two flat prices per practice: €129/month (Essential) and €299/month (Professional), plus VAT.
How do I move my records out of HealthOne?
Import scope and mappings are agreed with the practice. Representative records, permissions and rollback are tested before the practice accepts production cutover.
