Brigid vs Cliniko for Irish private practitioners
Cliniko is a dependable digital calendar, notes, and billing system. But as AI transforms clinical workflows, practices are looking for more than storage and scheduling — they want the admin done, not just organised.
Raw dictation with clinician authorship
Brigid can return raw EU speech-to-text while the clinician authors, verifies and signs every note and letter. It does not generate clinical content from the consultation in the launch release.
Local DNA
Built specifically for Ireland: EUR invoicing, Irish scheme codes, EU/Dublin data hosting, and documentation shaped around Irish Medical Council guidance — not a localisation layer on a global generalist platform.
Clinic-approved migration
Switching is not just moving a calendar. Import scope, representative records, permissions and rollback are rehearsed with the clinic before it accepts production cutover.

Switching from Cliniko — common questions
- Can I move my Cliniko data across myself, or is it a big migration project?
- Import scope and mappings are agreed with the clinic. Representative patients, appointments, documents, permissions and rollback are tested before the clinic signs the production cutover.
- What does Brigid do that Cliniko doesn’t?
- Brigid combines Irish scheduling, records, billing and raw EU speech-to-text dictation in one early-access workflow. Clinicians author notes and letters; staff write and route inbox replies. Generative clinical and outreach drafting is disabled for launch.
- How much does Brigid cost, and is dictation included?
- Plans start at €129 per month, priced in euro. Raw EU speech-to-text dictation is included; a Generative AI clinical scribe is not enabled for launch. Card-payment terms are shown in the applicable plan.
- Where does Brigid keep patient data, and is it GDPR-compliant?
- Brigid stores clinical records on AWS in Dublin. EU hosting reduces transfer exposure but does not establish GDPR compliance by itself; Brigid also provides privacy, access, retention and audit controls, while each clinic remains responsible for its own lawful use and configuration. Some disclosed processor paths, including voice services, may involve international transfers.
- Will Brigid send or file anything without my sign-off?
- Clinical Generative AI drafting and triage are disabled. Clinicians author notes and letters; staff review inbox messages and execute every send, filing and booking through the normal confirmed workflow.
