Section 9 explains the purpose and limits of optional AI assistance.
MyBrigid is provided by DJG Media Limited (trading as askbrigid.com and myBrigid), CRO No. 762838, registered office Coliemore House, Coliemore Road, Dalkey, Dublin, Ireland. References to 'we' or 'us' mean DJG Media Limited; references to 'MyBrigid' mean the patient product, previously called Brigid Patient, not a separate legal entity. Brigid is also the name of the staff and clinic product and of the AI assistant embedded in these services (including voice dictation).
1. MyBrigid is not emergency care
MyBrigid is software for patient access, clinic communication, appointment support, record viewing, forms, reminders, and related healthcare administration. It does not provide emergency services. If you believe you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.
2. Healthcare services disclaimer
MyBrigid does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, or clinical triage. Healthcare decisions are made by you and qualified healthcare professionals. Messages, summaries, results, generated information, and reminders in MyBrigid are informational unless your clinician expressly tells you otherwise.
3. Your account and identity
You must be at least 18 to hold your own MyBrigid account in this release. This is the product's account-eligibility rule; it is not a statement that every use of a child's health information requires parental consent or that Ireland's digital age of consent is 18.
Provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. Use your account for yourself or through a family/representative link you are authorised to use. A family relationship alone does not confer access to another person's health record. Tell your clinic or MyBrigid support promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
A parent or guardian with parental responsibility may request a link to a child under 16. The child's clinic must verify the authority and approve the permitted record access before information is shared. The child's confidentiality, interests and applicable rights must be respected. Under the account-access rules, that guardian link ends when the child turns 16. For ages 16–17, contact the clinic for access to the child's records; the app does not create an independent under-18 account or continue a guardian link automatically. Adult representative access requires the patient's valid authority or another applicable legal authority and the required verification.
4. Clinic linking and records
MyBrigid may let you connect with clinics, family members, appointments, messages, documents, lab results, prescriptions, invoices, and other health-related information. Access depends on the clinic, your relationship to the patient, verification, consent, and applicable law. Some records may be delayed, incomplete, corrected, restricted, or unavailable.
5. Privacy and health data
DJG Media Limited processes personal data and health information to provide MyBrigid, connect you with clinics, sync records, deliver notifications, support security, and improve reliability. Details are set out in the Privacy Policy, including the section on the app (section 14). Creating an account acknowledges those disclosures; it is not treated as consent where GDPR requires a separate, freely given choice. Optional processing that relies on consent is presented through separate controls.
The controls, and what they do. When you first sign in — and again if something changes — you are asked about Clinical intelligence (whether Brigid may apply AI to your information, including recording and writing up a consultation once your clinic switches that on), Share your records (whether other clinicians treating you may see your record), and Updates (non-clinical product news). All three are off unless you turn them on, each can be turned off at any time, and turning any of them off does not affect the care you receive. Where you have not given a permission, or have withdrawn it, the processing it covers must not proceed. Section 6 of the Privacy Policy explains the current limits of automated enforcement and how to raise a concern. For your MyBrigid account and information you record yourself, DJG Media Limited is the data controller. For records a clinic shares with you through the app, the clinic remains the controller and DJG Media Limited processes them on the clinic's behalf.
6. Communications and notifications
You may receive in-app messages, email and push notifications from MyBrigid, and SMS or other messages that your clinic chooses to send you, related to your account, clinic activity, appointments, results, billing, family links, and security. You can manage non-essential notifications in settings, but some service or safety messages may still be sent.
7. Payments and billing
If billing features are available, payment amounts, refunds, insurance handling, and financial responsibility are controlled by your clinic or payment provider unless MyBrigid clearly states otherwise. DJG Media Limited is not responsible for clinical charges or insurance decisions made by third parties.
8. Acceptable use
Do not misuse MyBrigid, attempt to access another person's information without authorisation, interfere with security, upload unlawful or harmful content, impersonate another person, or use MyBrigid in a way that could disrupt clinics, patients, or the service.
9. Automation
Where an approved AI feature is available, MyBrigid explains its purpose and asks for the applicable optional permission. Administrative conversations may help with appointments, clinic information or payments. They do not provide personalised medical advice, diagnosis, clinical triage, risk scores or treatment recommendations. For a clinical question, contact your clinic; for an emergency, use emergency services.
Where your clinic uses an approved recording, transcription, draft-note or record-summary feature, your applicable AI permission must be checked before your information is sent for that processing. This includes a clinician dictating a note about you. Recording a consultation also follows the clinic's recording notice and permission procedure. The clinician checks and approves the resulting record. AI can make mistakes or omit information.
You can decline or withdraw optional AI permission without losing access to non-AI care. Withdrawal stops further processing covered by that permission; it does not automatically erase a clinical record already lawfully created. Ask your clinic about rights concerning its records. General administrative recordings must contain no patient information.
No permission enables an unavailable feature or overrides the law, provider restrictions or the clinic's documented instructions. We identify material new purposes or features before introducing them and obtain any permission required.
10. Changes, suspension, and termination
DJG Media Limited may update the app and these Terms, suspend access for safety, security, legal, or misuse reasons, and stop providing features where required. If material terms change, we will provide notice where appropriate. You can permanently delete your account at any time from inside the app (Me → Login & security → Delete account). Account deletion covers your MyBrigid account, information you recorded yourself, your uploads, family links and device registrations, subject to applicable retention exceptions and backup expiry explained in the Privacy Policy. Medical records held by a treating clinic remain with that clinic under its own record-retention duties; deleting your account does not erase the clinic's copy.
11. Contact
Questions about these Terms, privacy, access, or your account should be sent through support@askbrigid.com (privacy questions: privacy@askbrigid.com) or your connected clinic. These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any mandatory consumer or data-protection rights, remedies or protections that apply to you.
